2003-08-20 [Aristotle]: Chinese Nine-ring broadsword
2003-09-05 [shadow sword]: reverse blade sword
2003-11-21 [Copper LeGree]: Two-handed sword?
2003-12-12 [Nairda]: staff? you mean jo or don't you? (aikido?)
2004-01-23 [windowframe]: me thinks they seperate things
2004-01-24 [Aristotle]: Grr, I'm tired of everyone thinking staff should be called jo, or bo. There are non-Japanese martial arts, you know. Staffs are more used in Chinese martial arts than in Japanese, in my experience. And then there are Westerners, who also used staffs. And that Filippine stick-fighting stuff. And I think they use staffs in capoeira sometimes, which is Brasilian, but I'm not sure. Sorry I burst out like that, but I'm tired of people thinking Japanese martial arts are the only ones.
2004-01-24 [windowframe]: *glomps [Aristotle] dood, 4 that, I wuv u. *grins* I was gonna say something myself, but i figured i'd wait for a reply from the ever so knowledgable [Nairda] first.
2004-01-25 [Aristotle]: Ehm. Thanks for the glomping. Um. How do you glomp someone, anyway?
2004-01-25 [windowframe]: 'To tackle from the back in an embrace' O.o
2004-01-25 [Aristotle]: Oh. Sounds... fun.
2004-01-25 [windowframe]: ^^;; mreh
2004-01-25 [Aristotle]: ~*-´+ krglb
2004-01-25 [windowframe]: well... perfect sense is made of that
2004-01-25 [Aristotle]: About as much as I made out of your last comment...
2004-01-25 [windowframe]: what, the mreh?
2004-01-26 [Aristotle]: Let me guess: it's a really cool chat-term that means "makes really evil howls" or something like that, because it's too much work spelling it out. Or maybe it's just a sound? Mreh. Hmm, weird.
2004-01-26 [windowframe]: XD the second one hun, :P it's just a random meaningles word ^^;
2004-01-26 [Aristotle]: and what about the ^^;; ?
2004-01-26 [windowframe]: it's just happy eyes w/ a sweat drop
2004-01-28 [Aristotle]: Ah. ASCII manga. Can it be any better?
2004-01-29 [sillue]: Additional to Aristotle's previous comment about the Philippine stick-fighting art, it's called Arnis from 'Arnis de Mano' but is also known as Escrima in Western countries. These sticks are not necessarily staff-like, they're usually just as long as an arm and could be used with machetes instead.
2004-01-29 [sillue]: Oh, I'd also like to learn more about using a bow.
2004-01-30 [windowframe]: i think you'll have to go and poke darkscribe then
2004-02-03 [Black Blur]: Is darkscribe alive??? I would like to teach about oriental weapons, but he seems to be away for 42 days...
2004-02-03 [windowframe]: ¬_¬ that dosn't mean he's dead, it just means he's been away for 42 days, get worried when it reaches the hundred count
2004-02-03 [Aristotle]: Oriental weapons? What do you count as the Orient? China? Japan? India? Mongolia? Korea? Russia?
2004-02-05 [Black Blur]: China and Japan principaly.
2004-02-19 [Aristotle]: I'd still like to get to know something about weapon care. You haven't mentioned that yet.
2004-02-19 [Black Blur]: I'll se what I get. I don't know much but I think I have a book about it
2004-02-19 [Black Blur]: Sorry to be late with the answer, I had to go training. I found somehing, not much but something. I'll make a wiki page soon, maybe not now, but today.
2004-02-20 [Black Blur]: Please, Aristotle, say what you think. :D
2004-02-20 [Aristotle]: Well, I guess that's good. I'd like to know what an 'abrasive' is, though, and what kind of oil to use. I don't suppose I should cover my blades in olive oil?
2004-02-20 [Black Blur]: I think an abrasive.. dunno. Use anything to polish white metal, don't worry with the "abrasive" (maybe it's the same thing don't know...) And I supose you can use olive oil, but, don't remember why, I didn't use it... I used WD40, a oil use in engines but it smells like... engine :p There may be some special oils, but I don't know what are theyr names. I think any oil would do
2004-04-27 [Galain]: Another passion of mine is weapory, so I'm available to help out if anyone needs anything! I have a particular fascination in the way that japanese blades were/are made, and also modern fencing weapons
2004-09-05 [Erestor]: hallo all if anybody is interested i have myclassroom set up at Weapons of Tolkien and will answer any questions. I need some students so if you want to become one just say so and ill ad you to my list and notify you if something you said you are interested in changes!
2005-03-01 [Opened my veins for nothing]: using a bows easy!!:p
2005-03-01 [Rizzen]: okay, I don't comment here often, ever really, but I had to respond to a recent one. Galian, you were saying how you'r interested in Japanese blade forging? You should check out the site http://www.scn
2005-05-13 [Wæfre]: hey, could you give us some lessons on longbows, perhaps?
2005-05-13 [Erestor]: Well this is for more martial weapons i.e. japenese and fencing blades. I have a small nit on Weapons of Tolkien, check it out if you want.
2005-06-20 [Gidsey]: i suggest u start a guide to recent firearms. i am a bit of a gun nut.
2005-08-21 [Mataza_71191]: how do i join??
2005-08-21 [Erestor]: Just add your name onto the bottum of the list and then study the pages aready set-up.
2005-08-21 [Mataza_71191]: allright do i edit?or something els?(i suck at spelling just a heads up)
2005-08-21 [Erestor]: Just make sure you know the information on these pages. These are old classrooms so just don't take everything for gospel ;)
2005-08-22 [Mataza_71191]: so were r the new rooms and how old is this one?
2005-08-22 [Erestor]: There are no new rooms as the person who created the old ones left.
2006-08-28 [mattpoi]: is there any chance of lessons on the more advanced aspects of staff, contact and such, im competent to a certain level but the contact moves are killing me
2006-08-28 [mattpoi]: also any chance of advanced poi lessons, i could teach up to a certain level but again i need help on the harder moves any help?
2008-04-15 [muglitura]: its a very fantastic class
2008-10-28 [King John Dragon Slayer]: MAKE ONE FOR LONGBOWS! please?
U totally should have thought of bows like one of the first like 10 things to write about. U totally should. Like just do bows in general, then go more into longbows, short bows, and recurve bows.
